OneCoat was originally developed on requests from the rail industry, there was a need to replace traditional floor polishes which had to be stripped of and replaced with new polish every 4 to 6 weeks in order to maintain clean-ability and desired finish. The consequence of this regime was that large amounts of water had to used together with high alkaline floor polish strippers, apart from being labour intensive, the caustic stripper solution was also causing corrosion to the train frames as the caustic solution was seeping into cracks and joints in the floor. Furthermore, the collected stripping residue had to be disposed of as hazardous waste.
With a brief to overcome these problems our Laboratory went to work and created a completely new type of floor coating, what we have today with OneCoat Floor & wall is a coating based on the same basic formulation but only with a few modifications to accommodate slip resistance and shorter drying times. Subsequently the OneCoat Interior and Exterior coating was developed to accommodate the need for protecting other surfaces as well, like the exterior paint finish on trains and Buses as well as many other types of surface materials both interior and exterior subject to degradation as well as soiling and graffiti, also making them easier to clean.
Today we have established successful markets for OneCoat in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Hungary, and Eastern Europe, this is both in the mass transit market as well as in schools, airports and other areas.
